Sunday

the matchbox project

Just came across a matchbox project and this image just made me smile!  Leanne and Naomi Shedlezki - an artist duo from Sydney, Australia, have been creating and presenting work across Australia, Japan, the United States and China. Their work incorporates performance, photography, new media, installation and collaborative exchange.

Prague

I'm heading to Prague for the week and to get me in the mood for a bit of street art I found this on Artifact .... can't wait!

And, of course, some classic Art Deco and Art Nouveau as found here (Klimt) at the Prague Museum

Tuesday

portmeirion 2010

Another wish achieved after many many years ...  I used to sneak up to watch 'The Prisoner' and we've just come back from a lovely visit to North Wales, Anglesey and the strange but pretty village of Portmeirion (where most of the TV programme was filmed) .....

I wonder if artists get paid to do these (silly question)!!!  I think this was just off the Rambla

Wednesday

This incredible piece of work was taken near the Gallery of Modern Art, not too far from La Rambla.

Tuesday

barcelona graffiti

Found on the Carrer del Marina on our way to the Casino - would love to have got down closer but I just don't know how the artist did it!

Monday

barcelona graffiti

Amazing work throughout Barcelona although the artist(s) will remain anonymous. I was sure I would remember where I took it but I never expected to be there for so long.....

My passport has arrived!!  I'm off to Barcelona where, fortunately, they've banned bullfighting.  Thank you Hazel for directing me to this lovely illustration from Holland.

Sunday

post-it notes

Post-it notes left to their fate in public places!  Love the idea of anonymous acts of kindness and the comments are great on this really popular blog! Simple and fun!

Saturday

justy phillips & margaret woodward

'The Way Life Should Be' is a collaboration between Phillips and Woodward - it comments on the realities and representations of contemporary Australian culture but I just want to jump on a plane and go back to visit me mate! But I do love the idea of using bright graphic tea towels to re-upholster everyday footstools, don't you? http://www.australiaproject.com/

Sunday

winter edinburgh

You can just see the Wallace Monument on Princes Street behind the helter skelter - busy with Christmas shoppers and tourists. Just loved the Christmas lights.

Sunday

travels to japan

It's been great raiding my photographs and portfolio - I had forgotten just what was in them.

ullapool

Seeing the leaves in the back garden and winter almost upon us - it reminded me of my fabulous summer and our trip to a very sunny Ullapool on the far north west coast of Scotland.
