Wangechi Mut is a Kenyan-born artist based in New York. "The artist manipulates ink and acrylic paint into pools of colour then carefully applies imagery sampled from disparate sources - medical diagrams, fashion magazines, anthropology and botany texts, pornography, and traditional African arts."
